Business

Progresses to Diploma in Business and then Year 3 of MA .

Science

Progresses to Year 2 of BSc (Hons) degree.

Engineering

Progresses to either Diploma in Engineering and then Year 3; or Year 2.

Progression to the University of Glasgow

You will progress directly to Year 2 of a University of Glasgow degree course upon successful completion of the Foundation Certificate in Social Sciences at the required level.

Subject Module

Programme outline

Two core academic skills modules:
  • Academic skills 1a
  • Academic skills 1b

 

Four core subject modules:

  • Introduction to Social Science
  • Introduction to Sociology and Anthropology
  • Principles of Economics
  • The International Economy

 

Two Social Sciences pathway modules:

  • The Individual, State and Society
  • Comparative Politics

 

Students taking the three term programme take four additional English language modules:

  • Language and Communication for Academic Study 2a
  • Language and Communication for Academic Study 2b
  • Language and Communication for Academic Study 3a
  • Language and Communication for Academic Study 3b

Progression Route

Progression routes

Progression to the University of Glasgow is guaranteed provided you complete your Foundation programme at the level stated in your offer letter.

Progression is to Year 2 of an MA or MA (Hons) (SocSci) in one of the following:

Year Two of undergraduate MA or MA (Hons)* Social Sciences in the following subject areas
