Programme Overview
The Foundation Certificate in Science teaches students a broad range of introductory science courses. The programme will help students to reach GCE 'A' level equivalent standard.
Subject Outline
All Foundation Certificate programmes at Glasgow International College contain two elements:
Academic Skills Modules
Develop key academic skills including research, writing, presentation and analysis skills.
Subject Modules
Cover the basics of your chosen area of study so that you have the knowledge you need. Then progress to more specialised study that focuses on the topics and skills you will need most in your chosen undergraduate degree course.
English language tuition is also provided for students who need it.
All modules are specifically designed to meet the needs of international students. They are taught with your progression to the University of Glasgow in mind.
Progression to the University of Glasgow
The Foundation Certificate in Science is equivalent to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree course at the University of Glasgow.
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Certificate, you will progress to Year 2 of a BSc (Hons) degree in the Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences.
Year 2 at the University is a general year, when you will study a range of relevant subjects. At the end of the year, you will choose or confirm the exact degree course.
